The health of 10 more girl students deteriorated after getting tetanus injection in Ludhiana district of Punjab. The condition of 3 of these is critical, who have been referred to the hospital in Samrala. On the other hand, 12 girl students had fainted yesterday. All were taken to the hospital, where they have been discharged after treatment.
On Thursday, a vaccination camp was organized at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School to get the girl students vaccinated for tetanus. After getting the injection, the girl students felt dizzy and fainted.

The Health Department team had injected 150 girl students in the school. The girl students whose condition deteriorated on Friday include Tanisha, Jaspreet Kaur Sheria, Anjali, Harman Kaur Satiana, Jashn Kaur Pawat, Manpreet Kaur, Meenu Ghumana, Muskaan, Reshma and Jyoti.

Apart from these, doctors have referred 3 girl students Parvinder Kaur, Anmol, Parvinder Kaur to Samrala Hospital seeing their critical condition. During this, a lot of anger was also shown against the health department among the family members of the girl students.

Dr. Navdeep Singh said that the children who came to him after getting the tetanus vaccine had more problems of headache and stomach ache. This happens only when the vaccine is given on an empty stomach. This also happens with those girl students who are deficient in vitamins etc. Scanning of girl students has been done. Blood tests are also being done. At present, the girl students are out of danger.

District Vaccination Officer Manisha Khanna said that the committee will review the matter in detail. He said that many times girl students do not eat food in the morning, it is also common to have headache etc. But a large number of girl students have faced problems in this matter, so they are probing it.
At present all the girls are safe. In this case, reporting forms have been made to be filled by the girl students. After this a complete study will be done to find out the reason. Although this type of problem is common, but still it will be discussed in the state level committee.
