On the night of 9/10 May, constable Bhedjeet was on duty at Orai highway outpost. Only then they get information that 2 miscreants are stealing iron in the factory area. On the basis of this input, Bhedjeet was alerted, he was near the outpost only when he saw the miscreants.

Constable Bhedjit followed them. Enraged by this, the miscreants opened fire on them. He survived the firing but the miscreants caught hold of him and attacked him with heavy weapons. Bhedjit died in this. When his body was found, there were 25 injury marks on his body. Purse and mobile were missing.

The news of the murder of the constable posted at the outpost created a stir in the Jalaun police administration. Jalaun SP E Raja started the search operation to nab the miscreants who killed Bhedjeet as soon as possible.

Jalaun’s SP E Raja told on double encounter, “We had received information that the two miscreants were about to come to the factory area near Orai. Based on this, our teams reached the spot. First of all, we cordoned off the area. Police was deployed at every nook and corner.”

“After 12 o’clock the miscreants reached there, we signaled them to stop. But they did not listen. Meanwhile, Orai SHO Shiv Kumar Rathore and 2 constables chased them, then the miscreants opened fire on them. But got shot. While 2 soldiers survived due to bullet proof jackets.

“The miscreants were firing continuously. The police also retaliated. Both the miscreants were injured. When the firing stopped, the police reached both of them. They were taken to the district hospital. There the doctors declared both dead. Killed The criminals were identified as Kallu Ahirwar and Ramesh. Both were residents of Orai. Bhedjeet’s broken mobile and his purse were also recovered from the miscreants.”

Jalaun police reached the encounter area on May 14 and the police carrying the dead bodies of the miscreants.

The encounter of Kallu and Ramesh is the 9th and 10th encounter in the last 80 days. In the last 6 years, police and STF have done a total of 186 encounters so far. According to the official figures of the UP Police, between March 2017 and April 2022, there were 9,434 encounters between police and criminals. By March 2023, this figure of encounters has increased to more than 10,500. More than 23 thousand accused were arrested in these encounters. There, 12 policemen died.

In these encounters, Ateeq’s driver Arbaz at number one, Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman at number two, Anand Sagar at number three, Rashid at number 4, Aditya Rana at number 5, Ateek’s son Asad at number 6, Ghulam Mohammad at number 7, Gangster Anil Dujana at number 8, Kallu Ahirwar at number 9 and Ramesh at number 10 are included.
