Wrestlers’ strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar led by Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh continues for the 14th day. 1. Teased on the pretext of breathing pattern
According to the report, both the aggrieved women wrestlers complained that Brij Bhushan touched them inappropriately on the pretext of their breathing pattern. Brij Bhushan Singh touched her thigh, shoulder, abdomen and chest without her consent. For tampering, Brijbhushan made an excuse to check the breathing pattern.
2. Touched the chest and stomach in the restaurant
A wrestler told in his complaint that during the tournament in 2016, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was in a restaurant. Where the MP allegedly touched her chest and abdomen. After this incident, the female wrestler was very nervous. He didn’t feel like eating food. She could not even sleep the whole night.
3. Similar act during tournament
The woman wrestler said in the complaint that in 2019 she was participating in a tournament. There also Brij Bhushan Singh came and on the pretext of harassing him by touching his chest and stomach.
4. MP hugs tightly for a long time
A woman wrestler told in her complaint that in 2018, the MP hugged her tightly for a long time. During this, Brij Bhushan’s hands were very close to his chest. This made her uncomfortable. Because of which he freed himself from the clutches of Brijbhushan. Another female wrestler has also made similar allegations against Brij Bhushan.
Haryana wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia are leading the strike at Jantar Mantar. He is constantly seeking support from the countrymen for himself.
FIR registered on the orders of the Supreme Court
WFI President Brij Bhushan Singh is a BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh. Wrestlers are protesting against them for the second time. For the first time, the strike ended after the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the Union Sports Ministry formed separate inquiry committees. However, this time the wrestlers are adamant on demanding Brijbhushan’s arrest.
He had complained against Brij Bhushan to the Delhi Police. When the police did not register the case, the wrestlers went to the Supreme Court. The Delhi Police had to register an FIR on the orders of the Supreme Court. However, the Supreme Court has now closed the Dispose of Kar case on the petition of the wrestlers saying that their demand for registration of the case has been fulfilled. He can go to the High Court if needed for further action.
Vinesh Phogat’s brother Dushyant was injured during the clash with the police. Whereas wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat started crying bitterly.
Clashes with Delhi Police
The Delhi Police has clashed with the wrestlers over their dharna. Wrestlers were bringing beds to sleep at Jantar Mantar after it rained a few days back. The Delhi Police stopped him from doing so. After which there was a clash between them. Wrestlers alleged that some Delhi Police personnel were drunk. However, the Delhi Police, while denying the clash, accused the wrestlers of assault. In which it was claimed that Delhi Police personnel were also injured in the fight.
