Women employees will get increment for having more children: 3 lakh will be given for becoming a mother through IVF, Sikkim CM announced

Women employees will get increment on the birth of a child in Sikkim. The state government has prepared a proposal, according to which women employees will get an increment on becoming a mother for the second time and double increment on the birth of a third child. Common people will also get facilities for having more children. At the same time, women who become mothers through IVF will be given help of 3 lakhs. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang gave this information during Maghe Sankranti celebrations at Jorethang.

The CM said that the fertility rate in Sikkim has decreased in the last few years. It has recorded the lowest growth rate of one child per woman. At the same time, the population of ethnic communities has also decreased. In such a situation, the CM made this announcement to encourage people belonging to ethnic communities to produce more children.

Female employee gets a year’s leave on becoming a mother
In the program, the CM said that we need to encourage women and local people to produce more children, so that the fertility rate of the state improves. Our government already gives 365 days leave to female employees and 30 days leave to male employees on becoming a mother.

Tamang told that the benefit of this scheme will not be given to the mother of a child (female employee). Common people will also be given financial help from the government for having more children. Its details will be prepared by the health and women and child care departments.

3 lakh will be given to women who become mothers through IVF
The government has also started IVF facility in the hospitals of the state. Due to this, if women are having trouble in conceiving normally, then they can take the help of technology. All the mothers who become mothers through this process will be given a help of Rs 3 lakh. Till now 38 women have become pregnant through IVF in the state, some of them have also given birth to children.
