Maharashtra MLA Ravi Rana sparked a major controversy stating that Uddhav Thackeray will join NDA within 20 days of PM Modi’s swearing in ceremony

With just two days left for the announcement of Lok Sabha Election results, Maharashtra MLA Ravi Rana on Sunday stirred a major controversy in the political battleground of the state claiming that Uddhav Thackeray is likely to join the BJP-led NDA after it secures power at the Centre again for the third time in a row. The results for the Lok Sabha polls is set to be announced on June 4.

“Uddhav Thackeray is set to join PM Modi’s government within 20 days after the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA,” Maharashtra MLA Ravi Rana told CNN-News18.

Stating that he had earlier predicted Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar’s exit from Shiv Sena and NCP accurately, the MLA asserted, “I know, this time as well, I will be right.”

“The Prime Minister had said that a window is always open for Uddhav Thackeray as he is Balasaheb Thackeray’s son. I am sure that Uddhav will use this window to come back to BJP,” the MLA said.

Will Uddhav Join Hands With NDA?

While Uddhav Thackeray has been seen standing in unity with the Opposition-led INDIA bloc, a twist in Maharashtra politics was stirred by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he signalled an olive branch to Uddhav Thackeray during an interview with a news channel.

“I can never forget the love and affection of Balasaheb Thackeray towards me,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi when asked if he considers former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray as the rightful heir to Balasaheb Thackeray. PM Modi said he will always be grateful to Balasaheb Thackeray and can never speak against him and added he’ll be the first to help Uddhav if he’s in trouble.

However, in response to PM Modi’s statement, Uddhav Thackeray said, “Even if the doors are open, do whatever you want. I will not come to you. And there will be no need to come back to you because you will not be there (in power).”

Notably, the BJP government in 2022 pulled off the split in the Shiv Sena which led to the fall of his government in Maharashtra making rebel Sena leader Eknath Shinde as the Chief Minister of the state.
