The winter session of Parliament may end today. If this happens, then this session will end a day before its scheduled time. The winter session started on November 29, which is scheduled till December 23. It is being told that due to the continuous uproar in both the houses of Parliament, preparations are being made to end the session a day before. Amidst the uproar of the opposition, some important bills have been passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The bill to link voter ID with Aadhaar card was passed in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Protesting against the bill, the opposition staged a walkout from the House. At the same time, the opposition also staged a walkout to register their protest against the bill, while Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O’Brien threw a rulebook on the reporter’s table, after which he was suspended from the House.

There was a huge uproar over the Election Law Amendment Bill
The Election Law Amendment Bill, 2021 has been passed by both the houses of the Parliament. It has provisions to eliminate duplication from the voter list. This bill was also strongly opposed by the opposition in the House. Opposition leaders raised slogans against it in the House and went to the Well. They demanded that the bill be sent to the Select Committee. It was finally passed after an hour-long discussion with members of several parties supporting the bill.

Opposition adamant about 12 suspended Rajya Sabha MPs
The winter session has been tumultuous from day one. The opposition is constantly adamant about the issue of 12 suspended Rajya Sabha MPs. Opposition leaders say the suspension is unconstitutional. Suspended MPs are also staging a sit-in near the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises every day. It is to be known that Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu had suspended these MPs for unruly behavior during the monsoon session.

Congress 6; Six MPs of TMC, Shiv Sena and Left suspended
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh announced the names of the suspended MPs. These include 6 Congress MPs: Phulo Devi Netam, Chhaya Verma, Ripun Bora, Rajmani Patel, Syed Nasir Hussain, Akhilesh Prasad Singh. Dola Sen and Shanta Chhetri have been suspended from Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC. Apart from this, Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai are included from Shiv Sena. At the same time, CPM’s Elaram Karim and CPI’s Binoy Viswam are also included in the list of suspended MPs.
