Wife swapping racket busted in Kerala: 1000 couples were involved, at times 3 men shared a woman; 7 accused arrested

A wife swapping racket has been busted in Kottayam, Kerala. Seven people running the racket were taken into police custody on Sunday. The matter came to light after a complaint was lodged with the police on behalf of the wife of a member. Police said that 7 people have been arrested and 25 people are being monitored. More arrests will be made in the next few days.

The woman has lodged a complaint with the Karukchal police station that her husband forced her to have sex with other men. The woman told that she had unnatural sex with her. After arresting the accused husband, the police got clues of a big network. Police have told that about 1000 couples were associated with the racket.

Gang used to operate through social media
Those arrested are from Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts. The Karakuchal Police said that the racket operated through several social media platforms like Facebook and Telegram.
Officials said that many high-profile people are also among the members of the racket.

The couples involved in the racket used to exchange their wives whenever they met. Sometimes a woman was shared by three men at the same time. Many single boys even paid money to share partners of other men.

Wives used to be exchanged in couple swapping groups
An official said like-minded people were selected through social media and wives were exchanged in private ‘couple swapping’ groups. Many people were associated with Facebook from this racket. The racket used to use fake social media accounts, so it will take time to catch everyone associated with it.

Police said that the matter is being thoroughly investigated. All the information about the people related to the case is being extracted and it is being ascertained whether the people of this group are also in relationship with any other group.
