Although the Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the whole country in 2024, but political activities have already increased in Haryana. One of the reasons for this is the talk of breaking the BJP-JJP alliance these days. However, BJP also has special reasons for breaking the alliance with JJP. BJP leaders are of the view that contesting the Lok Sabha elections with JJP will harm the party.

At present, all the 10 seats in the state are held by BJP MPs, in such a situation, if elections are held in the alliance, JJP will have to give some of its share of seats. If this happens, after the Lok Sabha, the JJP’s pressure on the BJP will increase again in the Vidhansabha.

advantage of modi magic in hindi belt
Along with the Haryana BJP, the central leadership of the party is also believing that the Modi magic will work again in the Lok Sabha elections. Since Haryana is a Hindi belt, it has more potential here. Due to this reason the party won all the seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2024 also, the party wants to move ahead with the same formula.

Punjab’s formula to break the alliance
The BJP does not want to take any blame on itself for breaking the alliance in Haryana, that is why it is still following the Punjab formula. Even in Punjab, during the farmer’s movement, instead of breaking the alliance with the Akali Dal, the BJP itself forced them. After which Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Badal himself broke the 23-year-old alliance. Although now the Akali Dal wants an alliance again, but the BJP is not allowing them to get close. In Haryana too, BJP in-charge Biplab Deb is following the same formula after three and a half years of running the government.

Core group brainstorming in Delhi
The political situation in Haryana was discussed in depth in the meeting which lasted for two hours in Delhi. The main issue of the meeting was the BJP-JJP alliance. BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah prominently participated in this meeting. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, state in-charge Biplab Deb, state president Omprakash Dhankhar and leaders of Haryana BJP core group were present in it.

No good report on alliance in central feedback
Soon after the Sirsa rally, the Haryana unit of the BJP has given fresh feedback to the BJP high command. The alliance has not been described as good in this feedback. Along with this, many BJP leaders have already advised to walk alone. BJP in-charge Biplab has already discussed about independent MLAs. A plan has also been made that BJP can form the government in Haryana on the basis of independent MLAs.

Why is BJP’s stand strict?
The stance of Haryana BJP leaders regarding the alliance is also tough because there is no threat to the government even after breaking up with the JJP. Think of it like this that there are a total of 90 assembly seats in the state. The government needs 46 seats for a majority. At present BJP has a total of 41 MLAs.

The support of 10 MLAs is from JJP. At present, 4 independent MLAs are openly with the government and HALOPA convenor Gopal Kanda has also announced to be with the government. Including these 5 MLAs, the BJP is in the position of majority in the government. Apart from these, two more independent MLAs have supported the government indirectly. In such a situation, even if the JJP leaves, the BJP government will not mind.
