The press conference was scheduled for 10 am but Klopp joined late. It was the second time in the last three weeks that the German manager failed to maintain his punctuality.

Jurgen Klopp seems to have mentally signed off as a football manager. The Liverpool boss looked quite relaxed when he appeared at the AXA Training Centre for a pre-match press conference on Friday, May 10. Under the guidance of Klopp, the Reds will play their penultimate game next week, going head-to-head against Aston Villa in an away Premier League fixture.

As per the tradition, Klopp was slated to speak to the media about his plans and strategy for the upcoming match. The press conference was scheduled for 10 am but Klopp joined late. It was the second time in the last three weeks that the German manager failed to maintain his punctuality.

Upon reaching the conference hall, Jurgen Klopp greeted the media personnel and sincerely apologised to them for being late. That’s when a reporter said to Klopp, “That’s twice in three weeks you are late.” The 56-year-old responded with a wry smile and said, “To be honest, who gives a f**k?”

During the presser, Jurgen Klopp assured that he would be on his best behaviour during the match against Aston Villa. If he sees a yellow card at Villa Park, Klopp will need to watch his farewell game as the Liverpool manager from the stands.

After a reporter referred to the scenario, Klopp said, “I got calmer over the years, obviously. I don’t need to be on the touchline but it would be cool if I could do that. It will not be from my side, I will try absolutely everything to try not to get involved in any kind of discussions,” as quoted by Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp has failed to bring any title in his last season at Liverpool. They were eliminated from the Europa League after losing the two-leg quarter-final to Atalanta. The Reds faced a similar disappointment in the FA Cup where Manchester United beat them 4-3 in the quarter-final.

Liverpool mathematically remain in the race to win the Premier League this season. That, however, can only be possible if the top two sides– Manchester City and Arsenal lose all of their remaining matches.

With two games in hand, Liverpool occupies the third spot in the league standings. They are four points behind the second-placed Manchester City and five behind topper Arsenal. Liverpool, however, are confirmed to secure a top-four finish this season, earning qualification for the next Champions League.
