When Sita did not understand, Ram-Lakshman smiled: When the intelligent sage got the support of God by his cunning

Story – The exile of Shri Ram, Sita and Lakshman was going on. At that time he met a sage named Sutikshna. Shri Ram was very pleased to meet him, stayed with him for some time. Sutikshna asked for a boon from Ram ji, Shri Ram granted him the boon and said, ‘Give us permission now, we will go ahead.’

Sutikshan ji asked, ‘Where will you go next?’

Ramji said, ‘Now I have a desire to go to Rishi Agastya.’

Sutikshan ji said, ‘He is my guru. I haven’t seen him for a long time. It’s been a long time since I went to his ashram, so I also want to go with you.’

Hearing this, Shri Ram looked at Lakshmana and smiled, Lakshman’s face also got a smile. When Sita was watching this scene, she slowly asked Shri Ram, ‘What is the matter, why are both of you smiling at this talk of brother Sutikshan ji?’

Rama said softly, ‘Goddess, look how clever these sages are. They have to stay with us for some more time, we are leaving them in their ashram, so as soon as the name of the guru came, they immediately thought that the guru would appear and there would be an opportunity to live with us. Well this is only Guru’s grace, but it is also sattvik cleverness.’

Lessons – Sutikshan ji has explained to us one thing that if there is a chance to be with good people, then that opportunity should not be missed. Here Sutikshan ji made an excuse of Guru Darshan to be with Shri Ram and this excuse shows his understanding. We should also keep looking for such opportunities, where we can get the company of good people.
