When Rishi Kapoor Revealed He And Ranbir Kapoor Lived Separately: ‘Hum Log Ek Ghar Mein Nahi…’ – News18

Rishi Kapoor has once shared that he and Ranbir Kapoor live in seperate homes.

Amid the success of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, an old video of him and Rishi Kapoor has surfaced on social media.

Ranbir Kapoor has delivered another blockbuster of his career with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The pan-India film that has shattered several box office records is in no mood to stop. However, the film’s success has also been met with criticism pertaining to its story and themes. It depicts the fractured relationship between a father and son. Amid the success of the film, a video has gone viral on social media of real life father and son Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor at an event, which left fans buzzing with reactions.

The clip was shared on the popular social media site Reddit and it captured Ranbir, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor at an event. It starts with Ranbir greeting Rishi Kapoor with ‘Hi Papa’. After a brief pause, Rishi Kapoor addressed the media present there. He said, “Pahle aapko ye bata de humlog ek ghar main nahi rehte hai, alag alag rehte hai. Toh ye ek coincidence hai ki aaj humlog ek hi waqt aaye aur aapke saamne hai(Let me tell you one thing that we live in separate homes. It’s a coincidence that we both came here at the same time and we are together in front of you).” Ranbir quips with, “Complain nahi hai”.

Further in the video, Ranbir Kapoor presumably compliments his mother Neetu Kapoor and moves out of the frame. On the other hand, Rishi Kapoor gets angry at someone from the press. He can be heard saying, “Ye Inka chilana kaun sunega? Pahle woh chillana band kare.” Then he proceeds to pose with his family but snaps out at someone again. He mouths, “Andha Hai Kya?”

Back in 2015, during an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Rishi Kapoor had expressed how Ranbir’s decision to move out of the family home was perceived by both Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, “My father gave me space when I moved out after marriage and I give Ranbir his space too when he decided to move out and share a home with his girlfriend. In this house, he had one room: how could that be enough for a 33-year-old boy? He’s a great son, he listens to me but I don’t interfere in his career because my career is mine and his is his. I know I’ve screwed up my relationship with Ranbir even though my wife kept telling me about what I was doing. It’s now too late to change it; both of us will not be able to adjust to the change. It’s like there’s this glass wall, we can see each other, we can talk, but that’s it. He doesn’t live with us anymore, which is also a very big setback to Neetu and me. We’re building a new home where there will be a lot of place for him and his family. Till then, life goes on,” he told the publication.

Meanwhile, the theme of the movie revolves around a son’s deep affection for his father, who is frequently away due to work commitments. This leads to a lack of understanding regarding the intensity of the son’s love, creating an ironic situation where this intense love and admiration for family becomes the source of conflict between the father and son.

Ranbir Kapoor takes on the role of Ranvijay, while Anil Kapoor portrays the character of his father, Balbir Singh. This family drama showcases the complexities of their relationships. Prem Chopra also has a guest appearance in Animal. Sandeep Vanga’s Animal is doing well globally. The action film crossed another milestone as it breached the Rs 600 crore gross mark worldwide, according to T-series. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Saloni Batra, and more in pivotal roles.
