BJP has registered uncontested victory in 9 seats.
The 36 seats of the Legislative Council are spread over 35 local constituencies. There are 9 MLCs elected from constituencies of eight local authorities. All these are BJP candidates.

Brijesh Singh’s dominance
BJP is contesting Dr. Sudama Patel from Varanasi seat. Dr. Sudama himself says that he is scared of his rival Bahubali MLC Brijesh Singh. In such a situation, Brijesh Singh’s wife Annapurna Singh aka Poonam Singh, who is contesting the elections, looks heavy. The BJP has expressed confidence in Brijesh Singh Prinsoo, a close aide of former MP Dhananjay Singh from Jaunpur.
Azamgarh’s competition is interesting
If we talk about these 27 seats, then Vishal Singh Chanchal from Ghazipur, Ravi Shankar Singh alias Pappu from Ballia and Brijesh Singh Prinsu from Jaunpur are in a strong position. However, the position of SP candidate Rakesh Yadav is considered strong in Azamgarh. The victory of CP Chand in Gorakhpur, Dr. Ratanpal Singh in Deoria and Akshay Pratap Singh alias Gopal ji in Pratapgarh is considered certain.

Unopposed election in Akhilesh’s area, so will not vote
Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri and Mathura together have elected 2 MLCs. Both of them belong to BJP. Here the papers of the Samajwadi Party candidate were rejected, so both the BJP candidates became unopposed. Akhilesh Yadav is the MLA from Mainpuri’s Karhal. Here the election has been completed due to the unopposed victory of the MLC candidates of the BJP. If elections were held here, Akhilesh Yadav would have cast his vote.

Direct competition between BJP and Samajwadi Party
In the election of UP MLC, there is a direct fight between SP and BJP as BSP and Congress are not in the fray. Whereas in some seats, the contest has become triangular due to the entry of independent candidates. BJP has fielded candidates on all 36 seats. At the same time, Samajwadi Party has fielded its candidates on 25 seats.
In Ghazipur seat, SP is supporting an independent candidate. Apart from this, SP’s ally RLD is contesting on one seat. Raja Bhaiya’s Jansatta Dal has Akshay Pratap Singh in Pratapgarh seat, Mafia Brijesh Singh’s wife Annapurna Singh in Varanasi seat and MLC Yashwant Singh’s son in Azamgarh seat as independent candidates.
