Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have asked for pictures of their daughter from the broadcast footage of Sunday’s third ODI between India and South Africa to not be used. The former India captain and the Bollywood star have never revealed their daughter’s face in their social media posts and have also earlier requested paparazzi to not click her pictures.

“Hi guys! We realise that our daughters images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn’t know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stays the same. We would really appreciate if Vamika’s images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank you,” Kohli and Anushka said in a statement that they posted in their Instagram story.

The incident happened during the 25th over of the Indian innings in Cape Town on Sunday. Kohli had completed a half century and the camera panned to Anushka, who was holding Vamika, in the stands as she cheered her husband on.

Kohli and Anushka had earlier sent a note to the paparazzi asking them to not click pictures of Vamika. “Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support,” the couple had said.

“The couple also mentioned that they will ensure that the paparazzi gets all the content featuring them but requested them not to carry anything related to their baby girl. While, we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same.”
