New Delhi: Indian cricket team’s star batter Virat Kohli made his debut for national team in Test cricket on this day in 2011 against mighty West Indies at Sabina Park. Initially, Virat struggled to score runs in his first few games in the longest format but as time passed, the 33-year-old went on to become one of the best batters ever in Test cricket. For more than two and a half years, Virat hasn’t been able to notch up a hundred in international cricket, which also includes red-ball format but despite this, his batting average is 49.96.

It has been 11 long years since Virat Kohli made his Test debut for team India. To celebrate the special occasion, he shared a special video on his social media accounts. Virat Kohli has so far played 101 Test matches for India in last 11 years, during which he has scored 8043 runs with help of seven double centuries, 27 centuries, and 28 half-centuries. For a long time, Virat Kohli has been in the top 10 in the ICC Test rankings for batters. Also, Virat has retained the number one spot in this elite list for quite a long time. The stylish right-hander also became India’s most match-winning captain in Test cricket during this period.
