Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condemned the attack on former US President Donald Trump saying violence has no place in politics and democracies.
“Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. Wish him speedy recovery,” said Modi in a post on social media platform X.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people,” he added.

The Republican leader was addressing a rally in Pennsylvania when bullet shots banged the area and Trump grimaced and clutched his hand to his right ear, with blood soon visible on his face. A person from the audience was killed in the attack while two people were critically injured, said the US Secret Service.
The Secret Service personnel promptly swarmed and escorted Trump off the stage who later said that he was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear.

World Leaders Condemn Attack
United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was “appalled” by the “shocking scenes” at Trump’s rally. “Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack,” he said.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was “sickened” by the attack at the former US President, he said, adding: “It cannot be overstated — political violence is never acceptable.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Sara and I were shocked by the apparent attack on President Trump. We pray for his safety and speedy recovery.”
Japan PM Fumio Kishida called for a firm stand against any form of violence that challenges democracy.
