On June 13, there was a bombing between ISF and TMC supporters in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas.

Incidents of violence are continuously coming to the fore before the Panchayat elections to be held on July 8 in West Bengal. Violent clashes broke out between two factions of the ruling TMC during the nomination of candidates at Canin in South 24 Parganas district on Wednesday. Both the groups attacked each other with bombs.

TMC workers led by block president Saibal Lahiri blocked the road near Canning bus stand. He alleges that another faction of the Trinamool Congress stopped him when he was going to file his nomination at the BDO office in Canning. The other faction is believed to be close to TMC MLA Paresh Ram.

Here, in Bankura district, the police recovered a bag from a car during checking, in which a dozen bombs were filled. Police seized the car and arrested 8 people.

High court directed to deploy central force
Only two days are left for the nomination for the Panchayat elections. On Tuesday, a hearing was also held in the Kolkata High Court to extend the date of nomination. The court had said that the State Election Commission should decide on extending the date of nomination. In view of the incidents of violence in the state, the court has directed to deploy Central Force in sensitive districts.

ISF and TMC supporters clashed on June 13
Earlier on June 13, there was a clash between supporters of Indian Secular Front (ISF) and Trinamool Congress. Navsad Siddiqui, ISF MLA from Bhangar in South 24 Parganas district, said that when our party workers went to file nominations, they were beaten up by TMC goons. If this situation continues, fair panchayat elections will not be held. People will not come out of the house due to fear.

Congress worker shot dead in Murshidabad on June 9
Earlier on June 9, a Congress worker was shot dead in Murshidabad district. He had returned to his village from Kerala only 10 days back. In the evening, he was playing cards with friends outside his house. During this, unknown assailants opened fire on him, in which he died on the spot. While two Congress workers were injured.

A TMC leader was arrested on June 10, a day after the murder of a Congress worker in Murshidabad.  Pistol was recovered from him.

Election on 8th July, results will come on 11th July
Panchayat elections will be held in West Bengal on a single day on July 8. Counting will take place on July 11. Nominations are being filed from June 9, whose last date is June 15.
