In a recent interview with a news portal, Vidya recalled an incident where she was asked by someone if the film is a biopic on Mr Bachchan’s house. Replying wittily to the question, the ‘Sherni’ actress said, ‘Us sawaal ke jawab ke liye aapko pratiksha karni padegi.’ Vidya’s answer was a pun on Amitabh’s other bungalow, which is named ‘Pratiksha’.
While Vidya broke into laughter, her co-star Shefali Shah added that she should have agreed with them that the movie is about Amitabh Bachchan’s house. Shefali has worked with Big B in ‘Waqt: The Race Against Time’, which also starred Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. Vidya, on the other hand, has shared screen space with the megastar in ‘Paa’ co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and ‘Teen’.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, ‘Jalsa’ revolves around the killing of a young girl and a news channel investigating it. While Shefali Shah plays the mother of the victim who refuses to give up on her daughter, Vidya plays a journalist who is looking into the story. The film will be released on an OTT platform on March 18.
