Tirupur: Burglars decamped with 1.25kg of gold jewellery, 6kg of silver articles and 5 lakh from a pawn shop on Union Mill Road.
Owner of the shop, Jayakumarhad locked the shop on Thursday around 7.30pm. He returned on Friday around 8am and found the valuablesworth more than 60 lakh, missing.
Tirupur city police commissioner A G Babu inspected the crime scene. A sniffer dog ran for a few metres from the shop before losing scent trail. Fingerprint bureau sub-inspectors and forensic experts also inspected the spot. Though the shop had CCTV cameras, the burglars took away the digital video recorder.
Police have registered a case and formed four special teams to nab the burglars. tnn
