Uttarakhand Election Result 2022: Ahead Of Counting, Let’s Look At Key Candidates In Fray

Uttarakhand Election Results 2022 Key Candidates: The race for Uttarakhand Assembly will see a light today as the counting will begin at 8 am. Polling for 70 seats took place in a single phase on February 14. The hill state has alternatively chosen Congress and BJP since the time it was carved out of Uttar Pradesh in 2002.

Uttarakhand had recorded a voter turnout of 62.5% during the polls.

Competition seems neck to neck between Congress and BJP in the hill state as the ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll had predicted 40.8% vote share for the BJP while for Congress the predicted percentage was 39.3%. AAP was estimated to secure an 8.7% vote share.

  1. Pushkar Singh Dhami: Incumbent Chief Minister of the state, Dhami is a two time MLA from Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar district. He is contesting this year’s poll from the same seat.
  2. Harish Singh Rawat: Former Chief Minister and five-time MLA, Harish Singh Rawat is contesting polls from Lalkuwa seat in the Nainital district.
  3. Colonel Ajay Singh Kothiyal: Contesting from Gangotri seat Colonel Ajay Singh Kothiyal has been projected as CM candidate by Aam Aadmi Party.
