The bus fell into this gorge at Damta in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This ditch is said to be about 400 feet deep.

The bus in which the accident took place belongs to Chauhan Travels of Haldwani. Four people including the driver of the bus were injured in the accident.

The bodies of devotees were scattered here and there after the accident. All the devotees were from Panna district of Madhya Pradesh.

After the accident, the local villagers immediately reached the spot and started the rescue. Later NDRF team also reached the spot.

NDRF team is carrying out the rescue operation. Uttarakhand CM is monitoring the rescue operation from the disaster control room.
