Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath launches projects of over Rs 68 crore, gives smartphones, tabs to students | Varanasi News – Times of India

GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated 15 projects of Rs 50.48 crore and laid foundation of five projects worth Rs 17.31 crore, including the state’s first institute of hotel management here on Friday.
He also distributed smartphones and tablets among students and unveiled the statue of Rashtra Sant Brahamleen Mahant Avaidyanath at Guru Gorakshnath Vidyapeeth in Bharohia development block of Gorakhpur.
Tablet and smart phones were distributed among 1,000 students. The CM handed over the gadgets to 22 students on the stage.
Addressing the students on the occasion, the CM said, “Smartphones and tablets, having digital access to international level content for free, are being distributed among one crore students in the state. The youth will have access to information on employment schemes at one click. The government is making arrangements for preparation of competitive exams and they won’t need to go outside for it. The youth of the state will become smart.”
“The government has decided that tablets and smartphones will be distributed among students of UG/PG, ITI, polytechnic, and skill development courses. On December 25, the birth anniversary of late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, 60,000 tablets and smartphones were distributed,” said the CM.
Yogi said that these gadgets were being linked with schemes like PM Mudra, Startup, Standup, PM Yuva Swarozgar, ODOP, Vishwakarma Shram Samman. Besides, the benefit of free coaching for competitive exams has also been provided through the tabs and smartphones to 10,000 youth.
He said, “During Covid wave the government brought 15,000 youths from Kota, Rajasthan in 500 buses without cooperation of the Rajasthan government. With Abhyudaya coaching arrangement in both online and offline mode, the youth won’t require to move out of their native place. Along with a better curriculum, the government officials, doctors and professors are being associated with the programme.”
The CM said that youth should get prepared for healthy competition. “During five years, government jobs were given to 4.5 lakh youths, 1.61 crore youth were associated with other employment and 60 lakh youth had self employment,” he said.
He also motivated youth for vaccination and advised them to take precautions. The Covid third wave is not dangerous but precautions are a must, he said.
Yogi laid the foundation of the State Institute of Hotel Management at GIDA in Sahjanwa and said that efforts will be made to start the institute in the coming session. He congratulated the information department and media while inaugurating Soochna Sankul building and the district information office.
