Uttar Pradesh: Alert railway staff help father reunite with his kids | Lucknow News – Times of India

LUCKNOW: Showing excellent coordination, alert railway staff on Saturday helped a family to reunite who got separated after the two minors boarded the wrong train.
According to railway officials, at around 10:22am, a passenger Rambaran informed deputy station superintendent of Tundlathat his kids identified as Radhika (11) and Hariom (10) with luggage have boarded Puri bound Nandan Kanan Express instead of Kamakhya bound Northeast Super-Fast express.
Following the alert, Nandan Kanan Express conductor Y K Saxena was asked to locate the kids in S2 coach of the train. Meanwhile, deputy punctuality made necessary arrangements to halt the train at Etawah junction.
On reaching Etawah, the kids along with their luggage were alighted by deputy chief ticket inspector Lal Bahadur and handed over to railway protection force (RPF).
Meanwhile, Rambaran reached Etawah in Northeast Super-Fast express and got reunited with his kids. “We got confused between Nandan Kanan Express and Northeast express, as we were expecting our Kamakhya bound train at the platform but instead Puri bound train was at the platform,” said Rambaran.
Nandan Kanan Express was briefly halted for precedence (to give a pass to another train). Its scheduled time to pass Tundla junction is around 10:11am, while Northeast super-fast express arrives at Tundla junction by 10:30am.
Divisional traffic manager Tundla, Sanjay Kumar said, “It was excellent coordination by railway staff who took prompt decisions and made necessary arrangements to reunite the family.”
