Uttar Pradesh will get new Bundelkhand Expressway today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it in Jalaun. The 296 km long expressway will start from Chitrakoot and pass through 7 districts and end at Etawah. It will meet Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Etawah. That is, the journey from Bundelkhand to Delhi will be easy.

The PM will reach Katheri village in Orai at 11.20 am. CM Yogi and Governor Anandiben Patel will also be in the program. The PM will address a public meeting here. Earlier, the PM had visited Bundelkhand on 19 November 2021. The PM had inaugurated the Rs 3,250 crore Arjun Sahayak Project in Mahoba.

36 months was fixed for the construction of this expressway, but this record has been completed in 28 months. Its foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister in February-2020. This is the fourth expressway of UP. It is of 4 lanes. In future it can also be made 6 lane.

7 lakh trees will be planted along the expressway
This expressway will end at Gonda village near Bharatkoot area of ​​Chitrakoot district. The expressway has a service lane of 3.75 meters wide. 7 lakh trees will be planted on its banks. The construction of Bundelkhand Expressway has cost Rs 14,850 crore.

Commandos deployed within a radius of two km
In view of the arrival of the PM, the commands have taken over the surveillance of a radius of two kilometers up to the express toll plaza. SPG helicopters are conducting aerial survey of the venue. In view of security, police force is deployed on the roof of every house in Katheri village. Barricading has been done on both sides on the highway. Vehicle parking has been arranged at five places about three kilometers before the public meeting place.

The journey from Chitrakoot to Delhi will be covered in 6 to 7 hours.
First one had to go from Chitrakoot to Kanpur and then to Delhi via Etawah, Agra. This journey used to take 12 to 14 hours. The distance of the journey was around 700 kms. But after the construction of Bundelkhand Expressway, now this distance will be reduced to only 626 km. That is, now this journey will be completed in 6 to 7 hours. The width of the expressway will be 110 metres. Underpasses have been made at various places for pedestrians and animals.

200 villages will benefit: People of more than 200 villages of 7 districts of Bundelkhand included in Bundelkhand Expressway will get the benefit. It includes more than 150 villages of Bundelkhand.

BJP is strengthening the ground in Bundelkhand
In the name of Expressway and Defense Corridor, BJP is preparing to keep Bundelkhand as its stronghold. Even though the BJP has all the four Lok Sabha seats in Bundelkhand. Nevertheless, the party has started to strengthen Mission-2024 from now on.

In all the four Lok Sabha seats of Bundelkhand, Banda-Chitrakoot, Hamirpur-Mahoba, Jalaun and Jhansi-Lalitpur were won by the BJP in 2014 as well. Similarly, BJP won 16 out of 19 assembly seats in 7 districts namely Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur. Samajwadi Party got 3 seats.
