The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP), Prashant Kumar, has announced stringent security measures for the upcoming UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2024. The directives aim to ensure a smooth and disturbance-free examination process. Under the new guidelines, all examination centres and their surrounding areas will be under enhanced surveillance. The DGP has mandated the upgrade and maintenance of CCTV cameras along routes leading to the exam centres. In areas lacking camera coverage, new installations will be carried out, with drone cameras deployed in particularly sensitive regions.
Increased Police Presence
The DGP emphasised the need for substantial police deployment during the examination period. Effective management of routes and vigilant crowd control at transportation hubs – including railway stations, metro stations, bus and taxi stands, and nearby hotels and restaurants – will be a priority.
Joint Duties and Enhanced Police Visibility
To bolster security, police visibility will be increased through the assignment of gazetted officers and magistrates on joint duty. Coordination between Intelligence, STF, and District Police will ensure vigilant monitoring of potential anti-social activities. These agencies have been instructed to stay alert and act promptly on any threats.
Search Operations and Anti-Cheating Measures
Both female and male police personnel will be stationed at exam centers for candidate searches. Additionally, rigorous inspections of photocopy shops, cyber cafes, and bike stands in the vicinity of the centres will be conducted to prevent any form of cheating.
Secure Handling of Examination Materials
Special security forces will oversee the transportation of question papers and answer sheets to and from examination centres and storage facilities. These measures are designed to prevent any security breaches.
