UP elections: Samajwadi Party’s Agra MLA candidate booked for violating Covid-19 guidelines | Agra News – Times of India

AGRA: A samajwadi party MLA candidate from Bah assembly segment, Madhusudan Sharma, and at least 50 of his supporters were booked by Agra police on Saturday on charges of violating Covid-19 protocol.
Police said that Sharma and his supporters had performed a puja at Bateshwar temple after the ticket was allotted to him from the Bah constituency. They had flouted social distancing norms and Covid protocols.
An FIR has been registered under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (Whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease), 270 (Whoever malignantly does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) of IPC and section 3, 4 of The Epidemic Disease Act at Bah police station.
