Unparliamentary Words’ Dictionary: Why ‘Jumlajeevi’ or ‘ashamed’ can land Indian MPs in trouble

Believe it or not, words like ‘Jumlajeevi’, ‘baal buddhi have now been termed unparliamentary, according to a new booklet by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. What this means is that none of these will make it to the Rajya Sabha or Lok Sabha records. This comes ahead of the Monsoon session beginning on 18 July. Other seemingly common words that have made it to the list are:’bloodshed’, ‘bloody’, ‘betrayed’, ‘ashamed’, ‘abused’, ‘cheated, ‘chamcha’, ‘chamchagiri’, ‘chelas’, ‘childishness’, ‘corrupt’, ‘coward’, ‘criminal’ and ‘crocodile tears’.
