Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has filed a defamation claim against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Shekhawat reached Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday afternoon and presented the claim letter. The statement made by the Union minister about his family in the Sanjeevani scam has been made the basis of the case.
Actually, Gehlot had said after the budget review meeting at the Secretariat on February 21 that the entire family including Gajendra Singh’s parents, wife is involved in the Sanjivani scam.
At the same time, Gehlot has also hit back at Gajendra Singh in this matter. He said- Regrettably, the PM has made such a scammer a minister. How can he be a minister?
Gehlot has been accusing Gajendra Singh in the Sanjivani scam for a long time. Gehlot has also been accusing Gajendra Singh of being the main character of the conspiracy to topple the government. The defamation case against CM Gehlot is being seen as a major bone of contention in the politics of Rajasthan. Describing himself as innocent in the Sanjeevani scam, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has been accusing CM Gehlot of making statements out of political enmity.
Gehlot said – defamation case is welcome, this scam will come up for discussion
CM Ashok Gehlot also attacked Union Minister Gajendra Singh regarding the defamation case. He said that how can you keep such a scammer in your cabinet. It is in all the papers that there is a mess. The central government has appointed a liquidator. He doesn’t even talk to the victims in the Sanjeevani scam. Gehlot said- Gajendra Singh’s defamation case is welcome. At least on this pretext the case will move forward.

Only ED can confiscate Sanjivani’s property, if we had the right, we would have confiscated the property long ago and paid the victims.
CM Gehlot raised the question why ED is not conducting raids in Sanjivani case.
Gehlot said- Now this scam will come up for discussion at least at the national level on the pretext of defamation case. The case of Prime Minister and Amit Shah will come into focus. Sanjivani case is perfect for ED raid. ED is conducting raids across the country, why not on Sanjeevani. Amit Shah has cooperative ministry, he should take action.
On the allegations of CM Ashok Gehlot in the Sanjivani scam, Gajendra Singh had said that he has no role anywhere. Sanjeevani’s SOG investigation does not mention her and any member of her family in the FIR. I am ready to go if SOG is called. ACB never called for voice test.
Gehlot made allegations on 21 February
Gehlot had said on February 21 that Gajendra Singh’s family members were involved in the Sanjeevani scam. There are around 50 accused in this case. After 11 days of this statement of February 21, Union Minister Shekhawat has now decided to file a defamation case in the Delhi Court.
Chief Minister’s OSD Lokesh Sharma, Gajendra Singh had already registered a case against the police officers in the phone tapping case.
CM humiliated my late mother by calling her an accused
Talking to the media in Delhi, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that there is no connection between me or my family with the Sanjeevani scam. The Chief Minister is repeatedly trying to assassinate my character by associating my name with the Sanjivani scam. So far so good, but the climax was reached when they called my late mother also an accused. Even after my mother passed away, she was publicly insulted. Hurt by this, I have filed a defamation claim.
Phone tapping case also in Delhi Police
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had filed a case in Delhi Police in March 2021 against police officers including Chief Minister’s OSD alleging phone tapping during political crisis. Investigation is pending in Delhi Crime Branch for two years.
Delhi High Court has stayed the arrest of CM’s OSD Lokesh Sharma. After the phone tapping case in Delhi, now the discussion has started in the political circles to file a defamation case against the CM there as well.
Defamation cases go on for a long time, but political significance in an election year
It is not easy to prove defamation on the basis of political allegation and counter-allegation. Its cases last long. In the election year, the defamation case against the Chief Minister is considered very important in terms of political discussion.
