Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 on Tuesday, aiming to address the needs of all income groups. For the salaried class and pensioners, benefits include a ₹17,500 annual savings for the salaried and a ₹25,000 family pension deduction, affecting around 40 million people. The budget also includes incentives for staff training, reduced corporate taxes for foreign firms, cheaper education loans, and doubled microfinance loans. Other measures include price reductions on cancer drugs, mobile phones, and gold, elimination of angel tax, and a plan to expedite income tax-related legal cases.
