‘Undeclared Emergency’: Congress Tweets After Income Tax Officials Search BBC Offices In India

New Delhi: Congress has reacted to the reports of I-T raids at BBC offices at multiple locations. The party tweeted, “First came the BBC documentary, it was banned., Now I-T has raided BBC.”

“Undeclared Emergency,” the part said.

According to initial information, the Income Tax department has raided BBC offices in a couple of locations in the country. Conflicting reports have emerged about the mobile phones of employees being taken away by the officials. The tax sleuths also went through the data from the computer in the accounting department. All employees have been prohibited from stepping outside.

According to sources in the Income Tax department, the officials have visited the BBC office for verification for a survey.
