The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to extend the registration deadline for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for December 2023 until October 31. Candidates who have not yet submitted their applications can now complete the UGC NET application process on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The previous deadline for filling out the UGC NET application form for December 2023 was set for tomorrow, October 28. This extension comes in response to multiple representations made by candidates.
“Therefore, in continuation to the public notice dated September 30, 2023 regarding submission of online application form for UGC NET December 2023 for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professor (AP), NTA has decided to extend the last date for submission of online application form for UGC NET December 2023, enabling the aspiring candidates to apply for the said exam,” said NTA in an official notification.
The updated schedule for NTA UGC NET December 2023 is as follows:
Online submission of application form:
- Earlier date: October 28, 2023 (up to 5 pm)
- Extended date: October 31, 2023 (up to 11:59 pm)
Last date for submission of exam fee:
- Earlier date: October 29, 2023 (up to 11:50 pm)
- Extended date: October 31, 2023 (up to 11:59 pm)
Correction in application form:
- Earlier date: October 30, 2023, to October 31, 2023 (up to 11:50 pm)
- Extended date: November 1, 2023, to November 3, 2023 (up to 11:59 pm)
In terms of the application fee, candidates from the general category are required to pay Rs 1,150, while candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) need to submit Rs 600. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and third gender candidates are expected to pay an application fee of Rs 325. The NTA is scheduled to conduct the UGC NET 2023 exam for the December session, spanning from December 6 to December 22.
