Udaipur businessman attacked with sword, hand severed; one detained | Udaipur News – Times of India

UDAIPUR: A 50-year-old businessman was brutally attacked with a sword and his hand severed in broad daylight on Tuesday. The incident occurred at Paneriyo ki Madri in Hiran Magri area of Udaipur.
According to Hiran-Magri police, Amar Singh entered the office of Kailash Menaria and attacked him with a sword. Neighbours intervened and rescued the victim. Police soon reached the spot and detained the accused. The victim was referred to the hospital where his condition is said to be out of danger.
The reason for attack is said to be an extra-marital affair, said police. The accused, Amar Singh, is a resident of Dungarpur and had come to Udaipur with the sole intention of killing the victim’s son, said police.
Singh was furious over his wife staying with the victim’s son since a long time. Accused Amar Singh also registered a complaint against Menaria’s son in the past for allegedly giving shelter to his wife.
