U-19 World Cup: India Defeat Uganda By Whopping 326 Runs, Raj Bawa Breaks All Time Record

India U19 registered a huge victory against Uganda U19 as the four-time champions defeated the African team by 326 runs. This is the second-best margin of victory in U19 cricket.

The bulk of the credit must go to the Indian batters for scoring 405 runs in the first innings. Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Raj Bawa scored centuries to take India’s score to 405. Raj Bawa played an innings of 162 runs in 108 balls batting at no. 4. He surpassed Shikhar Dhawan who held the record for the highest score in U19 cricket by an Indian batsman.

Bawa-Raghuvanshi duo added 206 runs to the Indian total. Only Australia has a bigger victory margin than India in U19 cricket.

When India came out to bowl, Nishant Sandhu spun a web around the Ugandan batsmen as they faltered without troubling the scorers. He picked up 4 wickets.

Raj Bawa was adjudged Man of the Match for his splendid batting performance. His 162 will go down in history as one of the best U19 WC knocks ever played. Bawa said that he is a big fan of Yuvraj Singh and loves his style of batting. He hails from Himachal Pradesh and qualifies to be a proper allrounder as he also constantly bowls at high pace.

India will now face Bangladesh in the quarter-final of the ICC U19 World Cup.
