A case of murder of a youth has come to light in Mangaluru, Karnataka on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as Mohd Fazil, a resident of Mangalpete. A group of unidentified assailants first beat him mercilessly and then attacked him with a knife. Due to this he was seriously injured and died on the way to the hospital.

The police commissioner said that the incident took place in Surathkal area when Fazil was talking to his acquaintance outside the cloth shop. After the incident, Section 144 has been imposed in Surathkal, Mulki, Bajpe, Panambur, so that no violent incident takes place.

The incident took place when Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was visiting the house of BJP youth wing leader Praveen Nettar, who was hacked to death two days ago in Bellare in Dakshina Kannada district. Praveen was the district secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha. Two people were arrested in this case.

After the killing of the BJP leader, several activists and MLAs in Karnataka have been demanding that the government take action like bulldozers on the homes of people creating social unrest and spreading communal tension. Bommai was replying to a question in this regard.
