Two drunkards ate half-burnt dead bodies in Odisha: Villagers thrashed them and handed them over to the police; Accused said – ate meat in a state of intoxication

Odisha Police arrested two cannibals on Wednesday. They are accused of eating the flesh of a half-burnt dead body during the last rites. During interrogation, the accused said that they ate meat in an inebriated condition.

According to the police, the incident took place in Bandhasahi, a tribal village in Mayurbhanj district. Both the accused have been identified as Sunder Mohan Singh, 58, and Narendra Singh, 25.

The accused cut one part of the dead body into three pieces.
Madhusmita Singh, 25, a resident of Bandhasahi village, died of illness. His last rites were being performed, when two drunken men threw his half-burnt body. He kept one piece with him and threw the rest into the fire.

When Laba Singh, uncle of the deceased girl asked him what are you doing? So the accused Sundar replied that you don’t know about witchcraft, do you? Even after the uncle protested, the accused started eating burnt meat.

The villagers beat up the accused and handed them over to the police.
The villagers who reached the spot thrashed the accused and informed the local police. Both have been arrested by the police and are being interrogated. During interrogation, the accused said that they had consumed meat in an inebriated state.
