Twitter has removed blue ticks from verified accounts on its platform. The company has removed blue ticks from accounts that did not pay for the Twitter Blue plan. It includes many big names like UP CM Yogi Adityanath, cricketer Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, actor Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar.

The company’s owner, Elon Musk, had announced this on April 12 itself. He wrote on Twitter, ‘The last date to remove the legacy blue checkmark is 4/20.’

Earlier, the date for removing the legacy checkmark was fixed from April 1. Twitter said, “On April 1, we will begin phasing out our legacy verified program and rolling back the legacy verified checkmark.”

Blue check mark added to Blue subscription
The blue check mark was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, celebrities, journalists, and other public figures. It was added to the Blue subscription service after Musk’s Twitter takeover.

200 off on annual web subscription
Musk wants to strengthen Twitter financially by the end of 2023. They have also modified some services like Blue subscription to increase revenue. Android and iOS mobile users in India will have to pay Rs 900 per month for Blue subscription.

Web users will get Blue subscription for Rs 650. If web user takes annual subscription then he will get discount. 6,800 instead of 7,800 will have to be paid. Annual subscription plan is not for mobile users.

Users with Blue subscription will get the facility of two-factor authentication
Since March 20, the security feature Twitter Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) has been discontinued. Now it is being given only to the subscribers with Blue subscription. To make the account more secure through 2FA, the account holder gets to use a second authentication method in addition to the password.

What will the user get in Twitter Blue Subscription?
In the subscription, users will get the ability to edit tweets, upload videos in 1080p ie HD quality, reader mode and a blue checkmark. The blue checkmark number will also be verified. It is not yet clear what will be the process of review of the account. Apart from this, priority will be given in reply, mention and search. 50% less ads will be seen than normal users and new features will also get priority.

Subscribers will also be able to change their handle, display name or profile photo, but if they do so, the blue checkmark will be temporarily removed until their account is reviewed again. Twitter also revealed that the official label for the business account will be replaced with a gold checkmark. There will be a gray checkmark for government and multilateral accounts.

3 reasons to move to subscription mode

1. The company is incurring a loss of 32 crores daily. She wants to increase the revenue with the new model.

2. Musk has bought Twitter for $ 44 billion. They want to make up for it soon.

3. Twitter is in huge debt. They don’t want to depend on advertisers to end it.
