Elon Musk reportedly engaged in a brief affair with the Google co-founder’s wife, Nicole Shanahan, that ended his long-term friendship with Sergey Brin. The affair prompted the Google co-founder to file for divorce earlier this year.
Elon Musk has denied having an affair with Nicole Shanahan. Responding to an exclusive report published by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the Tesla boss said the story was “total BS”.
Musk replied to a Twitter user who shared the WSJ article with a caption stating that Musk “allegedly banged Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife, leading to the couple’s divorce filing” and that “the two are apparently no longer friends.”
“This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!” Musk hit back in a post on Twitter on Sunday night. “I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”

Further replying to the user on Twitter, Musk said, “Haven’t even had sex in ages (sigh).”

TECH BILLIONAIRES’ FRIENDSHIP RUPTURED
Brin ordered his financial advisers to liquidate his investments in Musk’s various companies amid growing tension between the billionaires, according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Musk and Brin were close friends until the affair. The relationship between the two tech billionaires started getting sour after Brin learned that Nicole had an affair with Musk.
The Google co-founder filed for divorce in January citing “irreconcilable differences”, and stated that he and Shanahan had been separated since December 15, 2021. The couple got married in 2018.

Musk’s affair with Shanahan took place in December at Art Basel in Miami and at another event, Musk asked Brin for forgiveness, the Journal further reported.
Brin and Shanahan are currently negotiating a settlement, with Shanahan seeking more than $1 billion even though there’s a prenuptial agreement.
The affair is the latest in a string of revelations about Musk’s personal life. Reports earlier this year said he became the father to twins born to a senior executive at his artificial intelligence startup Neuralink.
Musk is the world’s richest person with a $242 billion fortune, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Brin is the eighth-wealthiest, with a net worth of $94.6 billion.
