OnePlus 12R Uses UFS 3.1 Storage In All Versions

During the launch event of the OnePlus 12 series, OnePlus stated that the OnePlus 12R would use UFS 4.0 for the 256GB variant, which was also indicated on their website. Following discussions on Reddit and X, OnePlus has officially clarified that both the 128GB and 256GB versions of the OnePlus 12R feature UFS 3.1 storage. The company has also apologised for the error and has since updated the website to reflect the use of UFS 3.1 instead of UFS 4.0.

India Tablet Market Grew In Q4 2023, Led By Apple

In fourth quarter (Q4) of  2023, the Indian tablet market witnessed a substantial 21 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase, as per CyberMedia Research (CMR) analysis. This growth was primarily fueled by high demand for 5G tablets. However, despite this growth in the final quarter of 2023, the market experienced a 14 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decrease in shipments. Apple retained its dominance in the market, securing a 25 per cent share in Q4 and throughout the entire year. Samsung maintained the second position with a 23 per cent share for the year. Meanwhile, Lenovo exhibited strong performance, capturing a 24 per cent share in Q4 2023.

Truecaller Service Similar To Phone Directories, Says Delhi HC, Dismisses PIL

On Monday, the Delhi High Court dismissed a petition against Swedish mobile application Truecaller, which offers users the identity of a caller from an unknown number, the media has reported. A division bench comprising  Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora stated that services like providing names and emails of phone numbers are a facility, drawing parallels to the historical practice of publishing telephone directories with names and phone numbers, says a report by news agency IANS.

Google One Crosses 100 Million Subscribers Milestone

The Chief Executive Officer of Google and Alphabet. Sundar Pichai, has recently announced that the company has crossed the milestone of having 100 million subscribers to Google One service which allows additional storage space for free services such as Gmail, Drive, and Photos. The Google One Premium plan comes with 2TB of storage and a number of several other useful features like VPN and dark web monitoring. The new AI premium plan which has just been announced by Google gives users access to the newly launched Gemini and soon it will offer Generative AI features inside Docs and Gmail.

50 Per Cent Of Indian Users Pick Up Smartphones Out Of Habit: Study

According to a recent study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), nearly half of Indian consumers tend to pick up their smartphones out of habit, often without any particular intention. In other words, one in two times mobile users in India pick up their devices without knowing why they fired up their smartphone. As per the findings of the global management consulting firm BCG, an average smartphone user typically checks their phone 70-80 times daily.
