Tom Cruise as Iron Man, Leonardo DiCaprio as Spider-Man? ‘Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness’ leaks list new faces joining the MCU – Times of India

It seems like Marvel is ready to explore endless possibilities now that they are officially entering the ‘Multiverse of Madness’.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Stephen Strange who is set to join forces with Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff aka The Scarlett Witch in ‘Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness‘ will have some new faces joining them in their fight to restore balance to the universe. If the latest reports, viral tweets and screenshots of the film’s credit reel are to be believed, then some Hollywood heavyweights may just be joining the franchise.

The latest rumours hint that Oscar winners, Tom Cruise and Leonardo Dicaprio will feature as variants in the upcoming film. While Tom plays a variant of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Leo will feature as Spider-Man. The film is also expected to star John Krasinski as the variant of Reed Richards, aka Mr Fantastic, a rumour he has been denying over the past months.

Besides the new faces, the film is also expected to bring back many familiar heroes including Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. A recent picture posted by the Portuguese dubbing artist Mariana Torres gave rise to the rumours, especially after she shared the frame with Manolo Rey, who has dubbed for Tobey Maguire. The picture was captioned ‘Good things are coming.’

Other actors anticipated to make a comeback are Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, Ben Affleck as Daredevil, Halle Berry as Storm, Patric Stewart as Professor X, Edward Norton as Hulk and many others.

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, directed by Sam Raimi is expected to be unlike any other Marvel film to date. Dropping hints about what to expect in the upcoming film, Olsen told Vanity Fair, “Yes, the horror genre feeling of constant fear and thrill and misleads and playing with the camera, playing with how the perspective of the depth of field in order to make the audience feel more anxious…”

The film that is slated for a May 6, 2022 release will also see Benedict Wong return as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and newcomer Xochitl Gomez as Miss America aka America Chavez.
