TMC MLA threw phone in the pond in CBI raid: ran out on the pretext of washroom; Now the agency is emptying the pond by installing pump

Jiban Krishna Saha is the MLA from Burwan assembly seat of West Bengal. The CBI had raided his house in connection with the multi-crore teacher recruitment scam.

When the CBI raided the house of West Bengal TMC MLA Jiban Krishna Saha on Friday, he threw two of his mobiles in a nearby pond. Now CBI is engaged in finding both the phones. For this, she is extracting water from the pond by installing a pump.

In fact, the CBI had raided the TMC MLA’s house in Murshidabad at 1 pm on Friday in a teacher recruitment case worth crores of rupees. During this, the MLA got up on the pretext of going to the washroom and ran outside the house. Before the CBI officers could catch them, they threw their phones in the pond near the house.

CBI officers and security personnel started pumping water from the pond from Friday night itself.

CBI had started searching for phones in the pond from yesterday itself. During this the phones were not found but 6 bags were found. After this the CBI decided to take out the water from the pond and also installed a pump for it. Two more pumps were installed on Saturday morning to pump out the water from the pond, but the agency is yet to receive the calls.

Phone recovery is necessary for the case
According to media reports, it is important for the CBI to get these two phones back, as important evidence related to the scam can be found in them. CBI has seized many objectionable documents in the raid. These include admit cards for various written examinations of different levels.

According to sources, a diary has also been found, in which the money collected during the scam may be mentioned.

CBI reached Saha through agent
The CBI came to know about an agent named Kaushik Ghosh during the interrogation of Kuntal Ghosh, a youth leader who was expelled from TMC. Kaushik used to find such people in Murshidabad district who could pay huge bribes to become government teachers. The CBI came to know from Kaushik that Jiban Saha was also involved in the case, following which the agency raided his house as well.
