AHMEDABAD: A 20-year-old woman from Memnagar on Monday filed a complaint at Naranpura police station, alleging that three men molested her when she was walking alone near her house and when her brother tried to rescue her, the men attacked him.
The woman in her FIR said that she had been staying in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, at her husband’s place, and came to her parents’ place in the city in December 2021, as her health had deteriorated after a miscarriage.
On the night of March 8, when she was walking near her house, three men who live in Naranpura — Raj Verma, Vishnu Verma and Mayur Katara — began chasing and teasing her. She said Raj held her hands and began molesting her. When she resisted, the other two also molested and verbally abused her.
Scared, she called out to her younger brother. On hearing her screams, he rushed in to rescue her. The woman said the three men then beat him up, causing him injuries to his head and shoulder. The woman tried to intervene, but the men tore her clothes and hit her as well. She then called the police control room and later took her brother to single civil hospitalwhere his treatment lasted for around five days.
