Rajkot: Three men were injured in a clash between two street vendors in the hawkers’ zone near Nanavati Chowk in Rajkot on Thursday night. According to police, Afzal Pathan (45), his father Babakhan Pathan (45) and his friend Hussian Vora (27) were injured when accused Ravi BharwadIndu Bharwad, Govind and Kisan attacked them with sticks and iron pipes. Ravi and Afzal both have carts in hawkers’ zone. They clashed over the placement of a table near the cart.

Rajkot: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man identified as Mahesh Chavda. The girl’s parents and Chavda work together in a brick kiln near Virda Vajdi village on the New Ring Road. Chavda had allegedly kidnapped the girl and took her to Chotila where he raped her. Police said that the accused had raped the girl earlier too behind the brick kiln.
Jamnagar man ends life
Rajkot: Mukesh Rathod (42) hanged himself to death over a legal battle with his wife in Jamnagar on Thursday. Rathod hanged himself to a tree at an isolated place near Bedeshwar. The deceased had married Mukta eight years ago and the couple had a girl out of the wedlock. Mukta started living separately for a few years as she did not want to live with Mukesh’s disabled mother. According to police, Mukesh was not able to pay maintenance to his wife as directed by the court so he ended his life.
