Three arrested for operating illegal Aadhaar card centre | Noida News – Times of India

GHAZIABAD: An Aadhaar card racket was busted with the arrest of its three members on Wednesday. Along with the Aadhar cards, the accused were also making fake labor cards.
Police said the accused were operating from a shop in the Loni border area. Fake stamps, fake affidavits and biometric systems were recovered from their possession.
According to police, the accused were identified as Asif (34), Khalid (23) and Javed (36). Meanwhile, Shehzad, brother-in-law of Javed, is absconding.
Iraj Raja, SP (rural), said that police got the information that a gang was duping people by making fake Aadhaar and labor cards. “We conducted a raid at the shop and arrested the accused,” he added.
A senior police officer said that the accused charged Rs 1,500 for making a fake Aadhaar card while Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 for a fake labour card.
“During interrogation, the accused told police that Shehzad has a genuine ID for making an Aadhaar card and he gave that ID to Javed. Shehzad had also given his retina high-resolution screen technology to Javed to open the portal,” the SP said.
The seized kit includes laptops, a fingerprint scanner, eye scanner, five rubber stamps, some filled forms for Aadhaar and labour cards. The laptops had an Aadhaar card application installed in it. Police also seized Rs 19,500 from their possession.
The arrested accused were booked under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of IPC. They were sent to the judicial custody after producing them in front of the magistrate.
