‘This Is The Real Kerala Story’: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Tweets Ahead Of Film’s Release

In a dig into the controversial Hindi film ‘The Kerala Story’, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the efforts of Kerala government under the LDF regime to end homelessness are the real Kerala story. Pinarayi Vijayan posted the tweet after handing over keys of 20,073 homes to beneficiaries under the state government’s flagship housing project, life mission.

According to PTI, Vijayan said over 3.42 lakh families have benefited so far after the state provided homes to 41,439 families under the project.

“The houses were completed as a part of the LDF government’s 100 days ‘Karma’ programme,” the CM said at the event.

In a tweet, Vijayan said, “Kerala is making great strides in ending homelessness under the LDF Govt’s #LIFEMission. Today, handed over 20,073 new homes and entered into agreement with 41,439 more families. So far 3,42,156 families have benefited. This is the real Kerala Story!”

Vijayan further said that a secure home was the right of every human being and the sense of security and confidence it provided was not small.

He said the Left government was devising and implementing plans to develop and transform Kerala into a state where everyone lives happily.

‘The Kerala Story’ is directed by Sudipto Sen and backed by Sunshine Pictures Private Limited, founded by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who serves as the producer, creative director and co-writer of the film. The film ran into controversy since the trailer showed hundreds of girls—mostly Hindus—being brainwashed, converted, and recruited by the Islamic State before being transported to countries like Afghanistan and Syria.
