The incident started with a fight between 2 groups of Trinamool. Another group of the Trinamool beat two Trinamool leaders named Pradeep Das and Shukdev Das near the club coordination association in Ward No. 34 of Beleghata. The victims claimed to be close to Raju Naskar, a follower of Trinamool’s Bahubali MLA Paresh Pal. The attackers are close to Shankar Chakraborty, a follower of Jeevan Saha, councilor of Ward 57 of the Kolkata Municipality. The injured were allegedly beaten with rods, sticks, punches and gun butts. The injured are admitted to NRS Hospital.

Raju Naskar, a follower of Paresh Pal, claimed that they were not seen in the assembly-municipal elections. Now they claim to be grassroots. My sons were severely beaten. We will not leave.

Alkananda Das, the councilor of ward number 34 where the incident took place, said, ‘There is no tribal conflict here at the grassroots level. When alcohol falls into the stomach, there is no group. There is only group of alcohol. I do not know the details of the incident. However, one group is sure that they had drunk alcohol. Let the police do what they want. On the other hand, the injured Shukdev Das claims that Alkananda Das is a happy bird. He was not seen in the assembly election.
