There was a lot of stir in Chamba district during this period. People came out of their homes in many areas. Whereas its effect was also seen in Lahaul including Kullu, Manali. There is no information about the loss of life or property due to the earthquake, but the frequent earthquakes have created fear among the people.

The tremors of the earthquake were felt in Kullu district on December 28, with a depth of 10 km and the magnitude of the earthquake measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale. Earlier on December 26, an earthquake of magnitude 2.8 with a depth of 5 km had hit Mandi district.
