Corona cases have started increasing once again in the country. On Sunday, 2,183 cases of corona were registered in the country. This is an increase of 89.8% over Saturday. On Saturday, 1,150 cases were found. The death toll from Corona has also increased. 214 deaths were recorded on Sunday, out of which 213 are from Kerala’s backlog data.
Cases rising again after 11 weeks of decline
After the third wave in January, there was a decline in cases for 11 consecutive weeks, but in the last 7 days (11 to 17 April) there has been an increase of 35% in corona cases. However, this increase is being registered only in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
In the week ending on Sunday, about 6,610 corona cases were registered in the country. Due to this, 4,900 cases were found in the country in the last week. There is a steady decrease in the deaths due to corona. Last week only 27 people died of corona infection. This is the lowest number of deaths in a week after the week of March 23 to 29, 2020. Last week 54 deaths were recorded.
Cases increasing in three states
There has been a sharp increase in cases in the last 7 days in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Last week, the highest ever 2,307 cases were found in Delhi. In its last week, 943 cases were found in Delhi. That is, there has been a 145% increase in cases in Delhi in a week. This week, Delhi’s share in the total corona cases in the country was one-fourth.
Cases in Haryana increased by 118% from 514 to 1,119 in a week. In Uttar Pradesh, 540 cases were found last week, which was 141% more than its previous week. In the week from April 3 to April 9, 224 cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh. In both the states, most of the new cases were found in NCR cities adjoining Delhi, such as Noida, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad.
