The youth of Bihar did not like the ‘Agneepath scheme’ of army recruitment, fierce ruckus – Rail Hunt

Patna. The youth of Bihar have not liked the ‘Agneepath scheme’ brought for recruitment in all the three services. The first opposition to this scheme of the government has started from Bihar. In protest against this, youths have blocked railway tracks and roads in many other districts including Ara, Buxar, Jehanabad, Saharsa, Munger, Sitamarhi, Nawada, Gaya. There has been a ruckus about this throughout the day. On Thursday, June 16, a large number of youths gathered at stations and railway lines and vandalized and tried to disrupt traffic.

There is news of loot and vandalism at Ara Junction railway station. Amidst the demonstration of the candidates, some chaotic elements have looted chips, biscuits, crisps and food items from the shops present at the station. The youths also broke the water vending machine at Ara station. The youths had blocked the railway track. The policemen also appeared helpless at the time of looting and vandalism in the shops of the station of the furious students.

This protest has come in front of many areas of Bihar. The youth is angry with this scheme to be recruited for four years in the army. Efforts have been made to disrupt rail traffic and road traffic in Buxar district of Bihar. In Buxar, about 100 youths protested at the railway station. Many trains have been delayed due to the protest. Railway tracks and roads have also been blocked in many other districts including Jehanabad, Saharsa, Munger, Sitamarhi, Nawada, Gaya of Bihar. Several trains including Vaishali Express, Rajyarani Express, Banka-Rajendranagar Intercity Express are running late due to the protest. This has had an impact on the passengers.

Protests are going on in Bihar for the second consecutive day regarding #AgnipathRecruitmentScheme. On the second day, the situation seems to be getting serious due to the youth coming down on the railway track and road. Information is also coming from many other districts including Buxar and Jehanabad about jamming of railway tracks and roads. In Jehanabad, students reached the railway station and demonstrated on the railway track. However, later the police chased the students away. In Nawada, Arrah, Arwal also students took to the streets and protested against the central government raising slogans. Vehicles have also been targeted in Nawada.
