New revelations are being made in the case related to the death of Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat. The Goa Police probing the matter has claimed that Sonali was forcibly given drugs. This drug was given by his PA Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder. Both of them have themselves confessed this to the Goa Police. Both have been arrested.
According to Goa DGP Jaspal Singh, Sudhir and Sukhwinder have confessed that they forcefully drugged Sonali on the night of 22 August. They were given chemicals by mixing them in liquid. When Sonali’s health deteriorated due to drug overdose, both took her to the washroom. Both sat with Sonali in the washroom for two hours.
Everything is clear in the CCTV footage
Goa DGP said that the police have also found CCTV footage of a club. In this footage, Sudhir Sangwan is seen giving Sonali a drink mixed with something in the bottle. There may be a chemical in the liquid in that bottle.
Goa IG Omvir Singh also held a press conference in this matter. According to the IG, available evidence and CCTV footage shows that Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder were partying in the club. During this, both made Sonali drink some liquid. This liquid may contain a synthetic drug whose name has not been revealed yet.
Sonali couldn’t handle it after drinking the liquid
IG Omvir Singh told that it is seen in the CCTV footage that Sonali is not being handled after drinking the liquid. After this Sudhir and Sukhwinder are seen handling Sonali. After some time, in another camera footage, both are seen taking Sonali to the washroom and stay there for two hours.
IG said that the investigation of this case is going on. Police will collect evidence against the accused by taking the FSL team along. Both will be produced in the court in 24 hours.
Special team for investigation
Meanwhile, Sonali’s brother-in-law Aman Poonia, who was present in Hisar, told that he had received a call from a DSP of Goa on Friday morning. The DSP told him that a special team has been constituted to investigate the matter.
On the other hand, Sonali’s brother Watan Dhaka said that their entire family has been saying from day one that Sudhir and Sukhwinder had drugged Sonali. Now the same thing is coming in the investigation of the police.
