The ruckus over the mosque in Mangalore: a temple-like design found under the mosque; Hindu organization worshiped outside, court stopped repair work

The temple-mosque dispute that started from Gyanvapi in Uttar Pradesh has now reached Karnataka. Controversy has arisen after the temple-like shape was found under the Malali Juma Masjid in Mangalore, Karnataka. Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have performed special puja outside the mosque. The local administration has imposed Section 144 here to deal with any untoward incident.

Understand the whole matter..
This is an old mosque in Gurupra Taluk on the outskirts of Mangalore. Repair work was going on in the mosque premises in Malali Market here. A part of the mosque had already been demolished. During the work on April 21, when the debris of the mosque was being removed, then a structure like a temple was seen here. Hindu organizations are demanding that they be returned to their temple area.

Court stopped repair work
The administration collected documents related to the land of the mosque so that tension did not increase in the area. At present, the matter is still in the local court. Till it is not clear whether there was a mosque on the land or there was a temple here, the court has stayed the repair of the mosque.

The atmosphere in the area should not be spoiled, that is why policemen were deployed at different places.

Hindu organization demanded a survey
Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have demanded a survey by the Archaeological Department (ASI) after the design of a Hindu temple was allegedly found under the mosque in Mangalore. The people of the organization say that it will be clear like a mirror in the survey whether there was a temple there or not.

Special priest Gopal Krishna Panikar was called for the puja.

BJP and Congress face to face
A war of words has also started between the BJP and the Congress on the matter. BJP MLA Bharat Shetty has said that every mosque in the country should be surveyed. Hindus have nothing to hide. Shetty said that most of the mosques have been built on top of the temple. Every time Muslims hide behind the 1991 Worship Act, it is not right. Every mosque should be surveyed once. We don’t want any mosque land, we only care about the truth.

Congress leader DK Shivakumar has said that BJP is maligning the name of Karnataka. Mangalore is a good place for investment, but such disputes will have a bad effect on business.
