Born in the Afghan city of Herat, instead of studying and spending time with friends, she withdrew herself from school and later witnessed the murder of her father at the hands of the Taliban when she was just 11 years old.
As a result, Nadia and her family, which included her mother and four sisters, fled to neighboring Pakistan. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the family had to change base again, this time to Europe.
